RF Microneedling

RF Microneedling is next-level microneedling because it involves a thermal injury (heat wound) as well as a mechanical injury from the needles themselves. With each pulse of energy, tiny needles enter the skin and then a burst of radio frequency energy disperses within the skin.

This thermal injury causes the skin to tighten and lift. RF Microneedling treatments combine the collagen-boosting, skin resurfacing benefits of microneedling with the skin-tightening benefits of radio frequency. It’s the perfect yin and yang to dramatically transform your skin.

WHAT RF MICRONEEDLING DEVICE IS USED?
We use Secret RF, which is manufactured by Cutera.  We demoed every single RF Microneedling device on the market and found this one to be the most customizable and effective.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED TO SEE RESULTS?
Collagen and elastin remodeling takes at least 90 days, so the effects of RF Microneedling may not be fully appreciated until about 3 months after the last treatment in a series, but the effects last for years.  The results are gradual because this is a natural progression, just how it takes a while to see increased muscle mass from lifting weights.  You will see some results from 1 treatment, but the “big wow” occurs when you receive a series of 3-4 treatments, spaced 1 month apart.  We will help you determine how many sessions you need, based on the condition of your skin.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?
Most patients are red for a day or two.  If you have sensitive skin, you could be red or splotchy for a little longer.  You will be able to see and feel a grid pattern, which is normal and usually resolves within a week.

DOES IT HURT?
We use a medical grade numbing agent that is the strongest numbing cream available (BLT: 30% benzocaine, 10% lidocaine, 6% tetracaine).  You will feel some discomfort, like a mild bee sting.  It’s a very tolerable, simple procedure. 

CAN ALL SKIN TYPES BE TREATED?
Yes!  That is one of the many reasons why we’re obsessed with RF Microneedling. 

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF RF MICRONEEDLING?
Though side effects are rare, the risks associated with RF Microneedling are bruising, infection, scarring and hyperpigmentation.  It is important to honestly disclose all existing medical conditions, medication you are currently taking, and follow post procedure care to prevent any adverse reactions.

WHEN CAN I RESUME MY NORMAL MAKEUP & SKINCARE ROUTINE?
We would prefer for you to sleep in the post procedure silicone gel that Mandy applies after your treatment.  You can apply makeup the following day and you can resume using “active” skin care products, such as Vitamin C and retinol, 3 days post procedure.
